Graduate Student Appreciation Week

We celebrate Graduate Student Appreciation Week during the first week of April each year. The week provides a perfect opportunity to recognize the contributions of all of our graduate students who are part of our Huskie community. Our graduate students bring great value and impact to the university, the state, and the world through their research, service, and roles as teachers, mentors, and leaders. Through their curiosity, dedication, and determination, they lend insight into and offer solutions to our most pressing challenges, and make our world a better place. During Graduate Student Appreciation Week, the Graduate School sponsors online and in-person activities that focus on connection and well-being.

Appreciating Our Graduate Students

The NIU community, including faculty, staff, and graduate students, is invited to join in showing appreciation for graduate students and their achievements. All are invited to attend events during the week of Graduate Student Appreciation Week.

You can also show your appreciation by nominating a graduate student to be featured in a Huskie Spotlight. Huskie Spotlights share stories from individual students about their academic, professional, and/or engagement experiences. Nominate a student by inviting them to complete a Huskie Spotlight Profile Survey.
