Huskie Service Scholar (HSS) Fellow Eligibility
As an HSS fellow, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Be currently enrolled full time as freshman or first year transfer student
- Be a first generation college student (neither parents have completed a four-year degree in the U.S.) or be eligible for the federal Pell Grant
- Commit approximately four hours a week to the program for the entire academic year (100 service hours total)
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher
- Earn a passing grade in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester of the program

Peer Mentor Eligibility
As an HSS peer mentor, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a sophomore, junior or senior
- Be a first-generation college student (neither parents have completed a four-year degree in the U.S.) or be eligible for the federal Pell Grant
- Be able to serve as a positive role model for first-year students
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with first-year students
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
- Earn a passing grade in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester of the program
- Commit approximately four to five hours a week to the program for the entire academic year (100 service hours total)
